Priceless PicturesThey say, "A picture is worth a thousand words." This is certainly true, but you could also say, "A picture by a child is priceless." What better way to know how well your gift was received than with hand-drawn pictures of smiling balloons and pretty flowers? The "Thank You" cards sent in by several students from the Wide Ruins Community School reflected their gratitude perfectly. This school was one of our many Program Partners that received school supplies in 2010 through the AIEF program's School Supplies service. Through 81 different Program Partners, over 21,000 students were on the receiving end of items preparing students for their first day of school. Over 11,000 of those students received backpacks with their supplies. In fact, between 2008 and 2010, we shipped Wide Ruins Community School the following school supplies for their students:
Supplying an entire student body may seem daunting, but it's accomplished through the generosity of many supporters. Several students made thank you cards expressing their gratitude for the thousands of items received by the school. Here are a few of the comments from Wide Ruins students:
